My Mum bought Ben, or Dick Dick as he affectionately became known for us in the summer of 1994 when we were on our way home from the stables and stopped off at a local pet shop. I was 15 at the time and my sister was 9.

Dick Dick had a fab personality, was always chirping and a happy little soul. He out lived both our parents and our grand parents, however he remained in my parents house after their passings, where he resided with my lil sister Lauren who called me in tears last night to say she thought he didnt look too well..

Lauren wrapped him in a blanket where he settled quite contently whilst allowing him to be stroked.. He slipped away in the early hours of today... We miss you Dick Dick, it is too quiet without you already x x x x

I asked God for a flower, He gave me a garden.
I asked God for a tree, He gave me a forest.
I asked God for a river, He gave me an ocean.
I asked God for the world, He gave me you.
My heart is lost to you, always and forever.

Heavenly Wings

These feathered friends of ours,
Bring happiness beyond belief;
And when they are no more
Nothing can dispel our grief.
We must remember the happiness
Of special moments shared;
Knowing we gave our love
and the very best of care.
A bird is a special companion
That burrows deep into our hearts;
God will care for our loved ones
When their life on earth departs.
Knowing our friends live on -
In this we can find consolation;
Filling the heavens with color
And the noise of jubilation.

Rainbow Bridge
Just this side of Heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an
animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet
goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our
special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of
food, water and sunshine and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and
vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong
again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times
gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small
thing: they each miss someone very special, someone who was left
behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly
stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; his
eager body begins to quiver. Suddenly, he breaks from the group,
flying over the green grass, faster and faster. You have been
spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling
together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses
rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and
you look once more into those trusting eyes, so long gone from your
life, but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together...
